Young Guns Plan to Break into U.S. Market
The Young Guns have achieved success in the United Kingdom and now they’ve set their sights on making big in the United States. The good thing is that, clearly, the U.S. market has been very open to British acts so there’s no reason why this can’t be done.
Vocalist, Gustav Wood, said: "What's great about being a band here in the U.K. is how small the country is in comparison to the States. Everything seems so much more connected here and you can get out and tour quite easily. It's actually not all that difficult to get something going here if you go out and tour."
Very good point. Traveling across the U.S. as a young band trying to promote themselves is a bit tougher and a lot more expensive because of how big the country is. Fortunately, they’ve got the support of a more experienced band to help them make the transition.
The band will be making their American debut while on tour with Seether. Gustav explains: "America is obviously massive and the way rock radio is set up so differently, so it's daunting for a U.K. band to go play there for the first time, but we're thrilled! We're excited for the challenge… we've had a lot of people discover the band through Facebook and YouTube. I think social media has been huge for us in that way."
The group is releasing their newest album, Bones, on September 4, 2012 in the States on Wind-up Records. The label’s CEO, Edward Vetri, said: "Once we heard Bones and then saw Young Guns play live, we knew we had to bring this band to the U.S. They've built a very passionate fan base across the U.K. and we look forward to amplifying their success on this side of the pond."
Best of luck to them as they make this big leap across the Atlantic!
