Wu-Tang Clan’s New Album Arriving “Soon”
Throughout 2013, Wu-Tang Clan’s latest album in seven years was expected to arrive. The July 2013 deadline passed, and the status of the album remains up in the air, with RZA telling Grantland at the end of the year that certain members are holding up the recording process.
The latest update comes from the hip-hop group’s Facebook page. A simple, succinct statement explained the release will be arriving shortly. It read: "The new Wu album ‘A Better Tomorrow’ coming soon."
Right now, the album still has no official release date.
Back in November, RZA mentioned the release was about 45 days away from completion. However, at the time, he revealed certain members haven’t contributed as much as others. According to his statements, GZA, Method Man, Ghostface Killah, and Inspectah Deck all put in minimal effort, while Masta Killa, U-GOD, and Cappadonna spent a block of time in the studio over the summer.
However, Method Man claims this isn’t the case, and rather the rest of the group has a different vision from RZA’s: “He wanted it to be light, we wanted it to be dark. Bring it back to that first LP. He was more like, more or less, we’ve been there and done that. So this is why it’s taking so long, because we gotta find a common denominator between light and dark, ’cause I agree with him, you can’t have a full album worth of dark sh-t, you gotta have some light there.”
