Wu-Tang Clan Drop New Single Off ‘A Better Tomorrow’
From the looks of it, we’re getting closer to seeing a new Wu-Tang Clan album drop. Members have talked about A Better Tomorrow, but listeners have seen little of it. Now, with no announcement, the group put out a new single, called “Keep Watch,” on March 18.
The track is supposedly the lead single off the album and features Method Man, Inspectah Deck, Cappadonna, and GZA. Reports call it a return to the sound off their first album. DJ Mathematics produced this release.
According to a Facebook update from January, A Better Tomorrow drops soon – but a lack of participation and different visions have stalled the process. Right now, reports say Raekwon has not contributed at all, while others have spent less time in the studio.
Method Man, as well, told the press that the rest of Wu-Tang’s vision contrasted with RZA’s, causing conflict in direction: “He wanted it to be light, we wanted it to be dark. Bring it back to that first LP. He was more like, more or less, we’ve been there and done that. So this is why it’s taking so long, because we gotta find a common denominator between light and dark, ’cause I agree with him, you can’t have a full album worth of dark sh-t, you gotta have some light there.”
