A lyric about slipping MDMA into a woman’s drink has gotten rapper Rick Ross a significant amount of attention. His appearance in Rocko’s “U.O.E.N.O.” not only has many on the internet up in arms, but now women’s group UltraViolet started a petition to get Reebok to drop the rapper from his series of endorsements.

Since putting the petition up, UltraViolet received 51,000 signatures as of Friday morning. The document requests that the sneaker brand remove Ross from its TV commercials and print campaigns. Since news of the petition went viral, Reebok has yet to make a comment.

UltraViolet’s petition isn’t the only one circulating. On a smaller scale, a Change.org petition wants the rapper to make a public apology. The petition has since gathered 500 signatures.

Ross, too, is being banned from radio play in certain markets. 103.7 The Beat announced last week that they’re pulling all of his songs for the time being. The station took the same approach in response to Lil Wayne’s Emmett Till lyric.

Ross, however, has yet to issue an apology. Instead, he made a statement explaining he, in fact, wasn’t talking about rape: “There’s certain things you can’t tweet. I want to make sure this is clear, that woman is the most precious gift known to man, you understand? There was a misunderstanding with a lyric, a misinterpretation. The term rape wasn’t used. I would never use the term rape in my records. As far as my camp, hip-hop don’t condone that, the streets don’t condone that, nobody condones that. So I just wanted to reach out to all the queens that’s on my timeline, all the sexy ladies, the beautiful ladies that had been reaching out to me with the misunderstanding. We don’t condone rape and I’m not with that.”
