Wiz Khalifa Plans to Release Latest Album This Year
It hasn’t been a secret Wiz Khalifa’s been working on a follow-up to 2012’s ONIFC, but when will it drop? The rapper recently spoke with MTV about his upcoming projects, which include his latest solo album.
Two releases fans should expect are Blacc Hollywood, the follow-up to ONIFC, and a Taylor Gang compilation. He said: “I'm dropping an album this year, and we dropping the Taylor Gang compilation this year as well, should be sick."
While not giving away too many details, the release will feature guest appearances from Miley Cyrus and Juicy J, and the first single should premiere in roughly two weeks on Rap Fix.
Khalifa reportedly began work on Blacc Hollywood right after his son Sebastian was born in 2013 and unveiled the titled through Twitter in the middle of the year. Then, he explained it to DJ Skee in an interview, saying: "So, the Hollywood part of course is like the success, the glitz, the glamour, the fun stuff and the Blacc is like where we come from. Not Pittsburgh like the hood or nothing like that, but Pittsburgh like party, drinking at a very young age or tearing stuff up, staying too late. It's a lot of fun and attitude involved."
ONIFC came out in December 2012, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 148,000 copies its first week. The release generated two singles: “Work Hard, Play Hard” and “Remember You.”
