Willow Smith "I Am Me" Video

Willow Smith might only be 11 years old but she’s already gained a reputation for being a bit of a wild child.  Recently, a picture of her sporting a tongue ring caused quite the uproar and her changing hair color has ruffled more than a few feathers given her young age.  Her parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, insist that they want to give their children room to make their own decisions and form their own unique personalities and, based on what we’ve seen from Willow and Jaden so far, I’d say they are accomplishing that….

It’s fitting, therefore, that Willow has released a video for her new song, aptly titled “I Am Me.”  This is not an uptempo number like her “Whip My Hair.”  It’s more of a ballad and focuses on lyrics and her singing ability which, really, isn’t too bad. 

The video is cute - it’s low budget – and, not to be critical, but she could use a little coaching with the lip synching.  It was pretty terrible and, ultimately, distracting.  Aside from that, the song and the video were the most age-appropriate thing I’ve seen come from young Willow.
