Will Miley Cyrus Be in the New "Bonnie and Clyde" Movie?
Could Miley Cyrus’ edgier new hairdo already be benefiting her career? Could be from the sounds of it! Rumor has it that the former Disney star is in talks to play Bonnie Parker in a new Lifetime/History miniseries about Bonnie and Clyde Barrow, two of the world’s most notorious criminals.
Nothing has been confirmed yet but, really, it seems like it could be a pretty good fit and before anyone scoffs at this being “just a miniseries,” consider the success of Hatfields and McCoys. Of course, there’s also the upcoming Liz & Dick Lifetime movie about the lives of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. The expectations are set reasonably low on that one, however, since Lindsay Lohan is attached to the project.
The biggest buzz after this rumor got going was over who could be cast as Miley’s Clyde. Surely, they wouldn’t do something cliché like casting her real-life fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, in the title role. There are a wide variety of options, though, so there really shouldn’t be a shortage of possibilities. Hopefully, they will pick someone who is not only age appropriate but also has decent chemistry with the erstwhile Hannah Montana.
Perhaps it will finally be Kevin Zegers turn to portray Clyde? The actor was originally cast opposite Hilary Duff but the project kind of fell apart and the roles were recast. He was considered a forerunner before so why not again? He also knows Miley well enough – they co-starred Rock Mafia’s “The Big Bang” music video.
