Will Lady Gaga’s ‘ARTPOP’ be Delayed?
Lady Gaga’s getting as much mileage as she can out of her pop star career, with regular touring and recording. Over the past summer, she announced her third studio album ARTPOP, revealing it would drop during the first half of 2013. However, one of her producers informed MTV News that they’re not anywhere near done. Could the album end up delayed?
Producer Zedd indicated the release is still in progress, saying: "We've been working on it for over a year now. There's still a lot of work left, so we're definitely gonna work on this project for the next month."
For those not aware, part of ARTPOP has been recorded while the singer has been on tour. Her Born This Way Ball Tour started last year, with the North American string of dates presently in progress and lasting to March 20. Likely because of this, she has yet to spend time in the studio with RedOne, who earlier mentioned: "We've been sending ideas back and forth. My intent is the same thing: make history. If we don't feel like this is part of history again, we're not going to do it."
Zedd’s update contradicts the singer’s statements in December 2012, in which she described having 50 tracks ready. Collaborations compose part of these, but, she mentioned at the time, these tracks may not make it into the final version of ARTPOP, which is expected to be a full multimedia experience with iPhone and iPad apps.
