Why is Britney Spears Using a Vocal Coach?
Fall 2013 is expected to be a comeback, of sorts, for Britney Spears. While 2011 album Femme Fatale proved to be a chart topper in the U.S. and overseas, her subsequent gigs, like touring and being an X Factor judge, ended up being less than stellar.
Perhaps as an effort to reinvigorate her career, Spears is releasing a new album soon, with a single rumored to come out in September, and has a Las Vegas residency coming up, possibly at Planet Hollywood, although a start date hasn’t been revealed. In preparation, Spears looks to be working with a vocal coach, as well as a choreographer, according to her publicist: “Britney has been using a vocal coach and going to regular sessions and has also been working hard with her choreographer in preparation for what's coming up! With album eight on its way and a rumored Las Vegas residency in the pipeline, eagle-eyed fans have spotted that all of Britney's social networks have adopted a blacked-out theme... the mystery continues!"
Spears, too, admitted on Twitter that she has a special project in the works for next week: "Taking a quick break to say hi to all my tweeps :) Rehearsing for something top secret happening next week... #WERK"
So, with a countdown clock on her website to something called “All Eyes on Me,” an album featuring production from William Orbit, Sia, and Naughty Boy in the works, and a Las Vegas residency soon to start, what could this preparation be for? Will Spears actually be singing during her Las Vegas residency? Or, if an album is to drop soon, could she be preparing to do more than stand around lip-syncing on tour?
