Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom" Soundtrack Out May 22
Wes Anderson's films have always been known for their stellar soundtracks (just check out Bottle Rocker, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, and Fantastic Mr. Fox), so it should be no surprise that Anderson's latest, Moonrise Kingdom, has a fantastic soundtrack.
The film, set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and will hit theaters in New York and Los Angeles May 25, will release its soundtrack on May 22 via ABKCO. It features music by Hank Williams, Francoise Hardy, Leonard Bernstein, and Benjamin Britten.
According to the film's website: "Set on an island off the coast of New England in the summer of 1965, Moonrise Kingdom tells the story of two 12-year-olds who fall in love, make a secret pact, and run away together in the wilderness." It stars Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton, and Anderson mainstays Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman.
