"Wake Up Call" Video Review

"Wake Up Call" is a song by Maroon 5 from their second studio album It Won't Be Soon Before Long.

The video is set to play out like a fake trailer for a nonexistent movie - similar to British Rock band Muse's video for "Knights of Cydonia". The casting sheet made a note of stunts (running, falling into a dumpster, driving) required for those applying for the role of Adam Levine's stuntman.

The Music video is shown as a trailer for an imaginery movie rated NC-17.In it Adam Levine finds his girlfriend cheating on him with a man he then shoots and kills the man.The rest of the video is Maroon 5 and Adam's girlfriend going through an elaborate plan to cover up the murder. In the end all of Maroon 5 is captured and in the last scene of the video Adam is given the electric chair.

True, it's all a little too CSI Miami when the sound of a thumping left ventricle answers frontman Adam Levine's question, "Is his heart still beating?" But so what? If corporate radio is going to insist on playing the same nine songs every hour, they could do a lot worse than "Wake Up Call." But don't take my word for it, listen for yourself after the jump, then give your own snap judgment in the comments section below.
