VMA 2012 Best Hip-Hop Video: Drake Feat. Lil Wayne HYFR
The Canadian rapper accepted his award without mentioning his feud with Chris Brown.
Canadian rapper, Drake, took home the Best Hip-Hop prize beating out the following nominees:
“Mercy” (Kanye West)
“HYFR” (Drake feat. Lil Wayne)
“Beez in the Trap” (Nicki Minaj feat. 2 Chainz)
“Heartbeat” (Childish Gambino)
“Paris” (Watch the Throne)
As soon as he took to the stage, he thanked Lil Wayne for “killing the song,” Young Money and his hometown of Toronto, Ontario Canada.
He went on to explain that the video was about being Black and Jewish and he told a story about a house party where he was made fun of so he dedicated the song to any kid who had to take a long walk home alone.
