Video for Olly Murs “Troublemaker” Released
Much like One Direction and Cher Lloyd, Olly Murs is a former U.K. X Factor contestant preparing to officially enter the U.S. market. While Murs, a winner on the television talent program, already put out his debut, In Case You Didn’t Know, he is currently preparing for his sophomore effort, aptly titled Right Place, Right Time, which drops in the U.S. on December 4.
Part of introducing him to the U.S. market is a collaboration with Flo Rida, a track called “Troublemaker.” The song has a very late-‘90s, early-‘00s vibe, as if it were originally intended for Justin Timberlake’s debut but missed the cut. Then again, One Direction, as well, have toyed with late ‘90s boy band harmonies.
The video for “Troublemaker” was just released and is even less remarkable than the track itself. The “troublemaker” appears to be a clumsy young woman who keeps on running into Murs, and Flo Rida briefly shows up to drop his bars. With the exception of the rapper’s presence, the music video’s premise is that of countless romantic comedies. If you have not watched the video, see it below:
Previously, Murs explained that getting Flo Rida to appear on his track was easy. The two already collaborated together on track “Heart Skips A Beat.” Talking about the album, which comes stateside once Murs finishes touring with One Direction, the singer has said: “I've worked hard in everything I've done, doing what's felt right, and everything has fit into place. It sums up the sentiment for this whole album."
