Vanessa Hudgens Reveals How Her Nude Photo Scandal of 2007 Changed Her Career

Vanessa Hudgens has talked some more about her infamous nude photos scandal of 2007 which completely changed the direction of her career.

In an interview with Paper magazine, the 24-year-old actress/singer said: "That was just a really s**tty situation that sucked. That was by far the worst moment of my career."

The "Come Back to Me" crooner's pre-leak media image was that of an innocent Disney teen but once it was known that there lies a naughty girl behind that miss goody-goody exterior, she started getting offers of more adult roles.

Back in 2009, she told Allure magazine: "Whenever anybody asks me, would I do nudity in a film, if I say that it's something I'm not comfortable with, they're like, 'Bullshit, you've already done it.' If anything, it makes it more embarrassing, because that was a private thing. It's screwed up that someone screwed me over like that. At least some people are learning from my mistake."

However, her tone in her interview with Paper seems to suggest that she admits those photos helped her add a whole new dimension to her career. "It's always been hard for actors to cross that bridge, but honestly, you have to hold out and do what you think is right for yourself," she said.

That photo scandal is a prime reason why she was able to land bold roles in projects such as her upcoming comedy flick "Spring Breakers," which also features Selena Gomez, James Franco and Ashley Benson.

In addition to that, she also plays the role of a prostitute in the upcoming thriller film "The Frozen Ground."

"Ever since I was young, I wanted to play really heavy and intense roles and really push myself in a dramatic direction. So I was like, 'A prostitute! I can play a prostitute! This is going to be exciting,'" Hudgens added.

So it seems everything worked out for the best for her, leaving us to think if that nude photo scandal was really an unauthorised leak or was it a carefully planned maneuver to boost careers.
