Usher Previews New Song “Good Kisser”
Usher’s starting to promote his new album, still untitled for the moment. Like a lot of artists these days, that means dropping hints on social media – one of which has been hashtag #goodkisser.
This week, we finally find out what Usher has been meaning. While “Good Kisser” isn’t the title of an album, it is the name of what’s presumably going to be his first single.
After dropping hints, Usher put out a 40-second preview of the song on April 29. Right now, there doesn’t appear to a release date for the track, so we’ll have to stay tuned.
This new album follows 2012’s Looking 4 Myself, one of the singer’s more experimental efforts. The release performed well on the charts and generated singles “Climax” and “Scream.”
Although Usher hasn’t given many interviews, longtime collaborator Rico Love – best known for his work on 2004’s Confessions – spoke about their efforts in the studio together. The two appear to have an on-again, off-again collaborative relationship, but both have made up for now.
In his latest interview, Love claims that Usher’s in the best form he’s ever been as a singer, and that this upcoming release marks a return to his R&B roots. The past two albums have featured an electronic palette of sounds and producer collaborations.
