"To Die In La" Video Review
Los Angeles based pop rockers West Indian Girl are returning with a brand-new album, titled "4th & Wall". Fronted by the stunningly beautiful Mariqueen Maandig, the group has built a reputation for their peppy pop-rock tunes with its sweeping melodies, brilliant harmonies and trippy, well-crafted arrangements that reflect all the good, bad and weird of their hometown.
"To Die In L.A." sets a scene via title, and the sound's perfectly on point too, like if Wayne Coyne went down to Malibu and spent some time beach bumming before hitting the studio.
The track has a synth-laden, mid-tempo rocker with a fitting atmospheric intro. It is has a bit of a psychodelic swirl to it that invokes memories of Los Angeles' hippie heyday back in the '60s.
