Tim McGraw Turns Down Role on Broadway

The country music star decided to focus on his music rather than performing on stage. Tim McGraw Turns Down Role on Broadway

There really has been a lot of activity surrounding celebrities and the theatre recently. The Spice Girls have a musical starting, Cher is going to watch her life acted out on stage and Billy Ray Cyrus will be joining the cast of Chicago.

It’s interesting, therefore, to see someone bucking the trend.  Country star, Tim McGraw reportedly turned down a role because it didn’t fit into his schedule.  He explains: "There's a new Broadway musical that I had to turn down.  I wouldn't say no to anything offhand, but I tend to ... sort of like the darker side."

He goes on to say: "The hardest thing is timing.  You can read 50 scripts and not find anything that you like. It's much like finding songs. You could listen to thousands of songs and find those magic things. For me, it all has to start with a script. And if that's not right, then nothing's right."

He’s got bigger fish to fry anyway. He is currently previewing new music while he is on the road with Kenny Chesney which includes his new single “Truck Yeah.”  "We have been unbelievably excited about 'Truck Yeah' since the first show of the summer when we played it live for the first time," says McGraw. "I'm really happy that radio and the fans will have access to it so soon."
