Tim McGraw: Alcohol and Politics are a Bad Combination!
Remember when Tim McGraw publicly mused about a possible future in politics? He once said that he would be willing to put music aside for a while so that he could run for office. Aren’t you glad he didn’t do that? I think he is too.
Of his declaration, McGraw explains: "That was back in my drinking days. Who knows? I've been very fortunate. If one of these days I'm in a position where I can give back and feel like I'm smart enough to help and not just doing it for the hell of doing it, then it would be something I'd consider. But certainly it would be after my kids are grown."
Well, he’s not the first person to get a little liquored up and make bold statements about running the world! At least he admits the source of his inspiration.
The 45-year-old, who did give up alcohol a number of years ago, will be going on tour with Kenny Chesney this summer and he shed some light about how he feels performing in front of a large audience: "The bigger the crowd, the better for me," he says. "You get more nervous the smaller the crowd is. The intimate things are fun but it's more nerve-racking when you can see everybody. When there's 50,000 people, you sort of can just play to the back of the audience and have a great time."
