The Wanted Singers Downplay Scary Run-In with Homeless Man in Denver
Members of the British boyband "The Wanted" escaped an unpleasant, and possibly violent, incident when they were confronted by a knife-wielding man in Denver earlier this week.
The musicians in question are Jay McGuiness and Siva Kaneswaran, who are in the States these days with the rest of their bandmates for their "Word of Mouth" tour. On one of their off days, the two headed out alone to watch a movie, reports TMZ.
On their way back, they were confronted by a homeless man whose initial request of some money was accepted by the singers. But the man kept on demanding more and more and later pulled a knife when Jay and Siva refused to cough up any more cash. The situation got tensed and a scuffle ensued, but both the young men evaded any bodily harm. They didn't make much fuss about it either.
Neither did they call police on the homeless man nor was the incident mentioned in Kaneswaran's tweet the next morning. Instead, the "All Time Low" crooner chose to focus on the movie they'd seen the previous night.
"Saw #Transcendence last night! Loved it! Thanks for the free tix UA Denver Pavilions," he tweeted.
It was only several days later that McGuiness talked about it on Twitter, and that too when the media broke the story.
Downplaying the incident, he wrote: "To reassure you, we were NOT stabbed, but a guy in Denver did pull a knife out on us- do not worry, we were lucky & we still love Denver."
