The Wanted Delay New Album While Releasing New Single
If you’re keeping score, One Direction are up three albums, and The Wanted have yet to put out their first international full-length release. And, while Word of Mouth had been scheduled for September after close to a year’s worth of delays, we won’t see it until November – that is, unless the boys decide to push it back again!
A video surfaced this week about a “Special Announcement,” and during, Todd Parker explained: "Unfortunately, and this is where the bad news comes in, guys ... unfortunately the album date for ‘Word of Mouth’ has to go back to the fourth of November as our worldwide date."
Later during the clip, Nathan Sykes said: "We hear your frustrations and we see on Twitter and online that you're being so patient and to say thank you we want to give you a brand-new single. You can hear our brand-new song 'Show Me Love' on all your favorite radio stations from tomorrow morning."
The “brand-new song” Sykes refers to is “Show Me Love (America).” Perhaps a dig at their lack of post-“Glad You Came” success in the U.S., the track’s also the boy band’s first ballad. While it debuted just hours before The Wanted’s “special announcement,” it doesn’t actually officially come out until next month. Here the new track here.
Now with a November release, Word of Mouth has been in the works for two years. So far, the release has generated singles “I Found You,” “Chasing the Sun,” “Walks like Rihanna,” and “We Own The Night” – all of which have gone onto be hits in the U.S.
