The Wanted Confirm LMFAO, Rita Ora Appearing on Third Studio Album
In terms of garnering visibility in the U.S., essentially showing a musical act has made it, The Wanted have had a terrific year. But, when you get to a certain point of prominence, why not keep going? For the British boy band, that’s the plan.
This past week, the group’s member Siva Kaneswaran revealed guest appearances for their third studio album. Perhaps hinting at a continuation of their club-friendly dance floor sound, Siva stated they’re in the studio with LMFAO, Rita Ora, and Dappy. He said: "We've been doing loads of tracks, but we've all decided that if that track is good enough then it's on the album, not because of the collaborations. […] Unless they're really, really good [they won't be on the album]. Some songs are a bit too extravagant, too iffy. It's all about the music, I'm excited."
The Wanted’s third studio album will, in fact, be their first international release. Although the release will feature collaborations, the group is emphasizing quality over simply having A-list performers appear. No proper release date, as of yet, has been set, although the album may drop in November.
As another step on their move to international prominence, “Glad You Came” – The Wanted’s debut U.S. single – went triple platinum in the U.S. The group tweeted the news on July 18.
Music is not the sole project we’ll be seeing from this act, either. Member Tom Parker may potentially be branching out into fashion, and the concrete details regarding his clothing line are expected to be revealed over the next week.
