Last week, Tessanne Chin became the latest winner of The Voice. Now with a new single written by Ryan Tedder, she spoke with the Jamaica Observer this week about her immediate plans.

Aside from promoting “Tumbling Down,” Chin expects to enter the studio early next year to put together her debut album, out through Universal Group. She explained: "We had a brief meeting with the label, and I fully understand that it is going to take the same amount of effort and work... our work has just begun. But luckily I am prepared for it and I want it. So if it means we are going to have to push our own stuff and do our own things until whatever, then that's what I'll do."

After watching her sister Tami already get signed to a major label, Chin understands what to expect – that is, she can’t sit back. Instead, from the single to the album out by March, she’s prepared to work and promote. She said: "As the winner of The Voice you have to understand that the next season starts in February and there will be another winner of The Voice, so it's time for us to get cracking and start recording so that we can debut our new album or single during that period."

Chin was part of Team Adam during the show’s fifth season. Although material has yet to be recorded, her album is already available for preorder.
