The Maccabees Release The Album 'Given To The Wild'
English indie rock band, The Maccabees, has just released their latest album, titled Given To The Wild. On the UK chart, the album debuted at number 4, their highest ever.
The first single to be released to come off the album is the track Pelican, first played on BBC radio and later uploaded onto YouTube. It received lots of positive reviews, probably due to the deep and meaningful message spelt out in the lyrics - telling everyone about the cycle of life. More to the point, the song simply states that life is very short. Make the most of what you have, and be good to those around you as they sing, "So you find a way to take a little with you/ For the ones you love".
The Maccabees has also just been invited to headline MTV's Brand New for 2012. They will headline the show on Tuesday 24th January, supported by nominees Lana Del Rey (one of the hottest new names around at the moment) and incredible talent Charli XCX. Having supported international acts like Peaches and Robyn, Charli also is one of the most exciting new artists around at the moment with her electro-goth style of pop music.
The Maccabees will be then touring the UK in March, beginning with a concert on the 3rd in Dublin, followed by more shows in Ireland, then off to other venues in the UK.
Given To The Wild is the third album released by the Maccabees, following the success of Colour It In in 2007 and Wall of Arms in 2009.
This album has been highly anticipated by devoted followers who have really grown to like their thought-provoking form of indie music.
UK fans should be able to see the band live during their March tour.
