The Jonas Brothers Are Working on a New Album
The teen pop landscape has evolved significantly since 2008, when the Jonas Brothers were at the apex of their career. But, while Justin Bieber and One Direction are the “it” acts of the moment, the trio hasn’t disappeared completely. Nick Jonas, aside from releasing a solo album, is on Broadway, while Joe Jonas, more recently, appeared on television date program The Choice.
In a recent interview with JustJaredJr.com, Joe Jonas discussed his career and plans for another Jonas Brothers album. The trio hasn’t put out a collective effort in two years, but their upcoming release, with a reportedly more grownup sound, should drop before the end of the year. About the sound fans should expect, he explained: “[A]s we’re getting older we’re able to talk about different things and we each have different inspirations [to pull from]. I’m really happy with the music though. I feel like it’s kind of more back to what it should be, more where the roots are, meaning instruments. You know, it’s not so programmed and all off a keyboard and electronic stuff, it’s almost organic.”
Joe further talks about what he would be doing if the Jonas Brothers never became a household name last decade – he would be more interested in acting or sports, for instance – and discussed his next move on television. After The Choice, he is part of the panel on The Next: Fame is at Your Doorstep, another music competition program – only, unlike American Idol and The Voice, the judges live in the same house as the contestants.
Aside from another Jonas Brothers album, a stage production featuring Joe and Nick may be another possibility. Although Joe didn’t give details in the interview, he hinted that a stage endeavor with the two brothers could appear next year.
