It has been reported The Dead Weather are eyeing a 2015 release date for their next album, a follow-up to 2010’s release Sea of Cowards. To gradually lead into that point, the band put out new single “Open Up (That’s Enough)” this week.

Out on Jack White’s own Third Man Records, through the Vault subscription service, “Open Up (That’s Enough)” will be sold in 7” form, with B-side “Rough Detective.” The release comes out January 17 and will feature a custom yellow jacket with a glue-pocket picture sleeve.

As far as the single is concerned, a press statement about both tracks read: "[They are] are unlike anything else the band has ever done and are both ample reminders of the ferocity of this motley collection of low-lifes, grifters and ne'er-do-wells. These songs are not throw-aways. These songs are not demos. These songs are not outtakes."

Following successful stints with The White Stripes and The Ranconteurs, White formed The Dead Weather in 2009. The band’s current lineup also includes Alison Mosshart of The Kills, Dean Fertita from Queens of the Stone Age, and Jack Lawrence of The Ranconeurs.
