Taylor Swift Was Simply Following State's Orders in Rhode Island Construction Row
Last year, Taylor Swift's Rhode Island neighbors weren't happy with her because they thought she was ruining their coastline. It turns out that the country music superstar was only acting on the state's requests and she herself had no desire for the construction work that made her neighbors unhappy.
After moving in her beach front mansion, the 24-year-old swiftly renovated the adjoining seawall and added a layer of boulders, which sparked complaints against her from the area's other residents. But now the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council has come forward to clarify that these modifications to the coastline was their decision and not Taylor's.
"The larger boulders were historically there," the Council's spokeswoman Laura Dwyer told the Providence Journal. "When the applicant came in with plans, they were proposing to leave those rocks way out in the water. We were the ones who asked them to get those boulders as close to the seaward side of that concrete wall as possible."
So all you Taylor haters, back off! And do your research before leveling baseless accusations at her.
