Taylor Swift to Begin 'Red' Tour In March 2013
Taylor Swift has announced that she will be going on a promo tour for her recently released album "Red" next year in March. The country superstar's tour opener will take place in Omaha, Nebraska on March 13, which will be followed by shows in Atlanta, Cleveland, Dallas, Los Angeles and several other locations around the country.
The 22-year-old released a statement to convey her tour plans to her fans and said: "I didn't think I could be any more excited about my Red album, but then I start thinking about how I'm going to put the new show together for the Red Tour. I have so many ideas about how to really bring this music to life, and I can't wait to share the new show with all my fans!"
English singer Ed Sheeran is expected to be Swift's opening act on her tour although it hasn't been confirmed yet. The two stars are good friends and Sheeran also appears on "Red," singing the duet song "Everything Has Changed" with Swift.
Recalling how she came to know the 21-year-old, Swift told MTV News: "I was in Australia when I first saw Ed Sheeran's music video for 'Lego House' and I was so blown away by his voice that I found a way to get his album, the entire album, even though it was not on sale in the U.S. yet. And became a huge fan."
Tickets for the "Red" tour are scheduled to be made available for sale from November 16. More details can be found on Swift's official website.
