Taylor Swift Talks about 'Red' Album
Taylor Swift has opened up about the kind of material that will be found on her upcoming album "Red." The country music superstar is famous for pouring out the mood of her actual life into her music and her upcoming compilation will be no different.
In the past two years, she has experienced many love-related ups and downs and she says that packing all of those emotions in one disc was quite a challenge for her.
"I went through a few roller coasters. Trying to chronicle each step of the way was challenging, because you go to some really dark places with the lyrics. Then in the next track, you're talking about how amazing it is to meet somebody new," Swift told Rolling Stone magazine recently.
She wrote her last album "Speak Now" entirely by herself but has used the skills of several A-list song-writers for "Red," and she says that the experience of others allowed her to learn a lot of new things.
"I felt like an apprentice. They taught me so much about melodic sense, and they let me do what I love, which is the lyrics," the "We Are Never Getting Back" crooner said.
"Red" will not only be filled with Swift's ever-changing emotions, but the involvement of different song-writers has also added a lot of variety to it. While the adventurous theme might surprise her listeners a bit, the singer herself says that she is into all kind of music so venturing out of country music doesn't feel strange to her.
"I have so many play-lists full of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Chris Brown. I love Wiz Khalifa," Swift added to prove her point.
The music side may be a bit different than her previous work but lyrical content will once again revolve around her favourite subject i.e. love and the disappointments that come with it.
"I know general things about love. How to treat people well, what you deserve and when to walk away. Other than that, love is a complete mystery -- and that's why I like to write about it," she said.
