Taylor Swift Releases "Never Ever" Music Video
Taylor Swift has released the music video for her newest single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and the world has gone nuts. It’s broken records and is definitely making it’s mark as her most popular track to-date.
The video is cool for one main reason – it was shot in one take. There are no cuts, it’s one continuous shot and that is very ambitious and clean in a time where over-the-top videos and autotune seem to be the norm. I don’t know if it’s the best thing I’ve ever seen but she definitely gets an A for effort! I will say, though, that there are some times when the love interest is wearing clothing that could look very Jake Gyllenhaal-esque which is the ex that many suspect she’s singing about (although, the guy looks a lot more like Adam Levine!).
The song is the lead single from her upcoming album, Red, which is still two months from being released. Of working on her fourth studio album, Swift said that she felt like “an apprentice” while working with Dan Wilson, who has collaborated with Adele. She claims that fans should expect her most “eclectic” work, which really could be the case - after hearing a teaser, Rolling Stone described one track, “State of Grace” as a "a howling, U2-style epic with reverb-drenched guitars."
The actual music video was taken down and is only available on MTV.com but here’s a quick preview (click on the MTV link to watch the full-length vid).
