Taylor Swift Collaborating With Other Writers for New Album
All the way back at the AMAs, Taylor Swift spoke about being ahead of schedule on her fifth studio album – but she hadn’t touched on her sound. After New Wave influenced single “Sweeter Than Fiction,” her next release’s character could go anywhere. Now, with a recent Billboard interview, Swift touched on the surface regarding what fans should expect, without divulging too many details.
One thing fans should expect is, more collaborations with writers and the country-pop singer getting more involved in production. She told the music magazine: "I'm really loving collaboration right now. I see it as a bit of an apprenticeship. I want to be around people who love writing songs and have done it for years. Every time I'm in a studio I'm learning, like how to build a drum track, and getting a new perspective on things. It's so thrilling to keep learning on your fifth album.”
The “I Knew You Were Trouble” singer went onto talk about how each album, including this upcoming release, is an entirely new sound for her – which, essentially, means this release could go anywhere: "As soon as [an album] comes out, I'm figuring out what the next one will be. It's gotten to the point where each one is a reinvention, which is what I like best. I like it when it sounds new and people don't know where you're going to go next."
From her country roots to more pop influenced sound, with some dubstep and New Wave thrown in, where do you think Swift should go with this album?
