Taylor Swift Announces New Album Title, Single
Taylor Swift’s recent home purchase got a large amount of attention over the past week, but did you know that she revealed her upcoming album’s title? In a Youtube webcast, Swift took and answered questions from fans, most of which concerned her album and new single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
Titled Red, the release is scheduled for October 22, and Swift released a picture of the album cover. 16 tracks are on the record, which the singer narrowed down from 30. She explained: "I wrote so many songs for the album that it was hard to choose the ones that would make it."
The title shares the name with an album track, which, Swift described, as inspired by her emotions over the past year. As well, Swift collaborated with other songwriters on this effort, including Ed Sheeran, for a new song. She told her fans: "I'm so excited for you to hear the music, and the new direction."
Red additionally inspired her latest perfume. The singer, getting in on the successful celebrity fragrance industry, appeared in the advertisements for Wonderstruck Enchanted – her second perfume – this week, clad in a red dress. The scent’s bottle, topped with bright charms hand-selected by the singer, is also a crimson color, and the perfume itself has hints of berries and fruit.
Single “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” appeared on iTunes earlier this week, and during her webcast, Swift explained the track is about an ex-boyfriend. But, aren’t a great deal of her songs already? Listen to the track below. Who do you think she’s talking about this time?
