Taio Cruz Talks New Album for 2013
Taio Cruz’s third album TY.O has yet to see a U.S. release, and the British singer and songwriter already has plans for a follow-up in mind. In a recent interview, Cruz mentioned he has already started work on the release, and considering a change after his two dance-influenced album, he may introduce a new sound.
As to why he plans to do something different for his fourth release, he said: "I'm toying with the idea of changing the sound entirely. For my own personal diversity."
Much like Ke$ha taking a rock turn with recent album Warrior, Cruz’s upcoming fourth album would reflect the music he listens to. He went onto say: "Also for the fans to know a little bit more about me and a little bit more about the styles of music I enjoy. It's definitely going to be catchy, but I don't want to give too much away."
But Cruz has other projects before properly starting work on the TY.O follow-up. As he is a songwriter, projects with Ke$ha, One Direction, and Owl City are scheduled to start in January.
While TY.O has yet to be released in the U.S. and U.K., it is now scheduled to drop at the end of 2012. The album, while released a year ago in Europe and New Zealand last year, was originally scheduled for a U.S. release in May 2012 but was pushed back. Single “Hangover” came out in October 2011, with more songs following. The U.S. version is expected to have different tracks than the edition released in Europe.
