"Stop Being Perfect" Video Review

The LK are Malmo, Sweden electro-pop duo formerly known as the Lovekevins.

"Stop Being Perfect" is a very smoothed and melodic tune with more forward momentum. The electronic accents, the background whirls and whirrrs, and the shuffling, brushed drums set a sweet scene for the lyrics of "frozen cloud"s and "sticky black tongues."

The video is a nicely abstract, stop-motion affair, setting black-clothed performers against a white background-- much more in line with the symbol-based simplicity of a name like the LK than the band's old, twee-ish moniker. After momentarily appearing in the inverse hues of a film negative, the duo play their instruments in front of swirling shades of red. Then they hide behind their drum set: "I don't know what people are up to."

Nice tune for a wispy wintry night.
