Soundgarden 'Live To Rise' Music Video
Soundgarden are to release a new studio album later this year. But already millions of viewers around the globe have heard a new piece of the group's work when they went off to watch "The Avengers" over the past couple of days. The opening title on the soundtrack to the movie is the song entitled "Live to Rise", a brilliant piece of work.
It has been 15 years since Soundgarden have released any new music, but they have returned with a real vengance. The track is gutsy, it's blisteringly dynamic, and entirely suitable for a movie which brings together all of our favourite superheroes as they pull together to bring the world back from the brink of disaster.
The music video shows the band performing on stage, and numerous snippets from the Avengers movie are blended in with the music of the group. When the band gets loud and uptempo, the movie action becomes dangerous and exciting. The best word to describe the clip is "thrilling"!
Soundgarden had recently re-formed and were working on new material when they were approached and asked to contribute to the superhero film. As it turned out, "Live to Rise" was the last track written for the movie, yet it is the opening song on the soundtrack. The track was available from iTunes as a free download during the first week, as a sure way of promoting the new movie.
"The Avengers" has set some new box office records with the biggest-opening film of all time in the North American box office. Overseas the first week attendances have been just as impressive, with patrons queuing up to see their superheroes as they save the planet. In the US alone, the movie has already pulled in over $200 million
