Soulja Boy Releases "Tear It Up" Music Video
Rapper Soulja Boy has brought fresh material to the table with the release of the music video for his newest single, “Tear it Up”. The song is off Soulja’s latest mixtape “Skate Boy (Deluxe Edition)”, an independent album that will be released tomorrow, November 1st.
The mixtape features 17 other tracks including a remix of Drake’s “Headlines” and a track in which he addresses his controversial anti-military comments. For those of you who missed out on the drama, Soulja rapped “f*** the FBI and the army troops" in his song entitled “Let’s Be Real”. He couldn’t possibly have imagined that going over well...
Though the artist is moving forward despite what critics may say. The music video for “Tear It Up” is quite basic. The Atlanta native can be seen singing in to his iPhone for the entire 3-minute-long video. We also got a great glimpse of his blond ‘do.
The release of the mixtape follows the debut of his bio pic “Soulja Boy: The Movie”, which was released on October 18. His fourth official studio album is titled “Respect My Hustle” and is slated to be released on Valentine’s Day of 2012.
His first single to be released from that album is “Hold You Down”, featuring Snoop Dogg. Others to be featured on his upcoming effort include Jamie Foxx, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes and more. Looks like he’s breaking out the big guns. It’ll be interesting to see how this latest album fares.
Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, stormed on to the music scene when he published his “Crank That” single on the internet. It topped the Billboard 100, while his 2007 album Souljaboytellem.com reached platinum. His following two albums failed to match the success of his debut album. Here’s hoping he can hop back on the train and pump out some hits.
