Snoop to grace Celtic Park?

Snoop Lion, formerly known as Snoop Dogg and now possibly becoming the Celtic's mascot? Snoop to grace Celtic Park?

He’s one of the biggest names in rap and has been for around two decades, but it seems that Snoop Dogg (now going by the name Snoop Lion since converting to Rastafarianism) has his heart set on being a mascot at a football game! In the past few months, it’s been rumoured that Snoop’s become a big fan of Scottish champions Celtic and was seen wearing their shirt.

Celtic have a big game in the UEFA Champions League coming up against Italian giants Juventus, and having scored victories against both Spartak Moscow and Barcelona in the group stages, there’s a chance that they could pull off yet another shock. However, Snoop’s beloved Hoops are the outsiders, given their opponents’ pedigree and depth of talent.

Gorgeous Georgios

Snoop first fell in love with Celtic after seeing them perform admirably against Barcelona at the Nou Camp on TV, singling out their Greek striker Georgios Samaras for his display. Celtic then went on to beat Barcelona 2-1 at home which helped them reach the knockout stages of the tournament.

Since being dazzled by what he saw from Celtic, he made a request to the club’s board by asking them to be their mascot when the team take to the Celtic Park pitch on Wednesday! What are the chances of that happening? According to some experts, it’s unlikely that the rapper will step in front of 60,000 screaming fans in Glasgow in a Celtic kit.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: "Snoop might be a big deal but we think he's barking up the wrong tree on this occasion". Snoop’s odds of being a mascot are at 20/1, but he’s just 1/10 to be seen at the ground. Odds of 1/3 are available on him being seen in the crowd sat next to Rod Steward, an avid Celtic supporter.

Football crazy

Snoop is known as a bit of a football fan. Unlikely though it may seem, he’s been seen sporting a few football kits, and is friends with former Manchester United, Real Madrid and LA Galaxy star David Beckham, who’s a huge fan of his music.

If he’s at the ground, odds of 100/1 are available for him to be seen crying if Celtic manage to upset the odds and beat Juventus by a few goals. It doesn’t seem likely, but if it does happen, we might see a different side to Snoop we never knew existed before.
