Crowded House serve up an upbeat indie tune that’ll have you tapping your foot as soon as it kicks off, guaranteed. ‘She Called Up’ blends melodic piano and guitars brilliantly and underpins the vocals with a good strong drumming that really lifts the whole song and gives it a cool edge. But what’s best about this gorgeous tune is the classic Crowded House slant on an upbeat tune that carries morose lyrics and turns them in to a sweet and simple refrain “She called up and gave me the news/It made me so sad sad sad…”.

The music video, directed by English director Robert Hales (known for his work on the music video for the songs "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley and "Look What You've Done" by Jet), is set in a small theatre where a class of children stand up on the stage on tiered platforms singing the song. The camera periodically zooms in and out of selected children who are shown playing instruments and singing along to the song.
