Shania Twain Performs For First Time in Eight Years at Vegas Show
Shania Twain took to the stage at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas this past weekend and it was special for a couple reasons. The first is that she was kicking off her two-year stint at the venue but, more importantly, it was the first time Twin has performed in eight years.
The 90-minute show is meant to not only showcase the songs that have made her famous but to also take her fans with her on a personal journey.
When discussing her residency with reporters last week, she explained: "The show is very fun for me. I was a bit worried that we were staying in the same place. Was I going to lose that edge? But I've never had a show this exciting before."
She worked hard too, in the days leading up to opening night, and fans (and critics) described her as sounding strong and appearing happy.
It’s a far cry from how hard things have been for her in the last few years. When her marriage to Mutt Lange fell apart and she discovered that he had been having an affair with her best friend, Marie-Anne, her world seemed to just crumble. She stopped singing and took time to really work through all she was going through.
Now, she has moved on and is married to Marie-Anne’s former husband, Frederic, and she feels he is her biggest supporter. "I cannot live without him," she said. "I need that support. I just need what we have. It grounds me every day and reminds me that there are a lot of important things going on in the world."
Best of luck to Shania on her show in Las Vegas!
