"Seven Nation Army" Video Review
Former X-Factor runner-up Marcus Collins premiered on March 4 his first single, a cover of the White Stripes hit “Seven Nation Army”. Next week, Marcus is going to release his self-titled debut album, which includes a song written by his X Factor mentor Gary Barlow (Take That). The rest of the songs were written, or at least co-written by Marcus himself.
Collin’s cover was very well received by the general public, it debuted on the 9th position on iTunes U.K.'s Top 100 songs chart.
The R&B / pop singer is currently on the X Factor 2012 tour, with the other artists that placed on the top 9 positions in the show, so he’s booked for the next month.
Yes, it's a shame he couldn't do something original, just copy a great version of this song already recorded by Ben L'Oncle Soul. You would think he would want to put his own slant on it rather than just copy someone else's superb arrangement. Doesn't say much for his own original ideas.
