Selena Gomez Gets Roman Numerals Tattooed On Her Neck

The pop starlet's latest body art could be a tribute to her mother Amanda Dawn "Mandy" Teefey. Selena Gomez Gets Roman Numerals Tattooed On Her Neck

After getting inked for the very first time earlier this year, Selena Gomez has added some more permanent artwork to her body.

The former Disney star's latest tattoo is 'LXXVI' (Roman numerals for 76) and she has got it engraved on the back of her neck.

She got this one from the famous tattoo artist "Bang Bang," who has previously inked many big-name celebrities including Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and Katy Perry.

The 20-year-old singer visited the artist's NYC-based studio, where he barely took 20 minutes to get the job done.

In the picture, Gomez's skin does look slightly red but the expressions on her face tell that she is satisfied with what she got.

The tattoo does look like a random (although cool) selection at first but there is some meaning behind it, as Bang Bang told the Daily Mail: "The tattoo was a tribute to a family member (possibly her mother Mandy who was born in 1976)who she said means a lot to her. Selena was nervous it might have been painful, so she held her best friend's hand the whole time. But she did a great job."

She got her first etching in February when Louie Gomez drew a very tiny music note on the outside of her right wrist.

Back then everyone thought that it was a heart, but she later cleared up the misunderstanding by saying: "It's a music note. Everybody thought it was a heart, but it's a little music note. I was named after a singer and music obviously is a big influence for me. And there's music stuff with my mom that means a lot to me, too."
