"Scream" Video Review

Kelis works up a sweat in the neon video for “Scream,” the David Guetta produced single off her dance-minded album Flesh Tone.

Running on a treadmill in slow motion during the song’s slower moments, the fashionista rocks an assortment of wild hats and spazzes out when the track gets bumping, dancing in the dark as black lights reflect off her day-glo body paint, various shots of the Flesh Tone diva wrapped in some OTT fashion ensembles (huge fake eyelashes, lace winged hat, chains) with a recurring image of her in a human body suit, jogging in place.

I enjoyed the clip. Edgy, artsy, and left-field, the video managed to stay true to the imaging Ms. Rogers has been playing with this go round. What’s more, it’s great seeing an act really pushing a project, despite less-than-impressive sales. More power to her.
