Salahi Scandal Helping Journey/Foreigner Tour
Journey and Foreigner, arguably two of the most important rock bands of the 1980s, have embarked on a tour, buoyed by the public’s renewed interest in songs like “Don’t Stop Believing” thanks, in part, to Fox’s hugely popular, Glee. While the music is what fans love and remember, something else appears to be sparking interest in the tour.
Journey guitarist, Neal Schon, is at the center of a scandalous love triangle. He began having an affair with Michaele Salahi, a cast member of Real Housewives of D.C. and wife of Washington vinter, Tareq Salahi. The couple are best known for crashing the White House in 2009.
Initially, Tareq feared that his wife had been kidnapped but later learned that she had run off with Schon (and has subsequently been seen on stage during the concerts). To make matters even more complex, Schon had just married 1986 Playboy Playmate Ava Fabian this past July in Paris.
Foreigner lead singer, Kelly Hansen, is amazed by how much attention the scandal has brought to the tour adding: "I'm thinking about staging my own kidnapping ... if only I could tolerate being around those horribly obnoxious women from one of those shows for more than 5 minutes."
