Rita Ora Gears Up for Next Album with New Single “I Will Never Let You Down”
Rita Ora’s debut album, titled simply Ora, performed well in the U.K. two years ago, so right about now, it makes sense she’d start preparing for a sophomore album.
While there has been news of collaborations (most notably, Prince), we’ve had yet to hear new music. But this week, she previewed the lead-in single in full, a track called “I Will Never Let You Down.”
“I Will Never Let You Down” follows last year’s “Radioactive.” Reflective of her personal life is the fact that Calvin Harris – best known for dance music crossover songs like “Feel So Close” and “Bounce” – wrote and produced the track. If you haven’t yet had a chance to hear it, listen to it here on Soundcloud.
Aside from this track, the new album is expected to feature other collaborations – aside from Prince, Macklemore has been rumored. As well, label manager Jay-Z has been making sure the still-untitled sophomore album is “perfect.”
While “I Will Never Let You Down” comes out on May 11 in the U.K., the album as a whole has no official release date.
Ora came out in August 2012 through Roc Nation and Columbia. The release eventually peaked at No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart and at No. 2 on the Irish albums chart. The release generated such singles as “How We Do (Party),” “R.I.P.,” which featured Tinnie Tempah, “Shine Ya Light,” and “Radioactive.”
