Rihanna’s River Island Collection to Debut at London Fashion Week

News of Rihanna’s collaboration with U.K. brand River Island broke over the summer, and according to the schedule for the Spring 2013 London Fashion Week out over the past few days, her line of clothing and accessories is expected to debut next month.

At the end of last week, London Fashion Week organizers had added her collection to the event’s official calendar. During the event in which many major designs unveil their Fall/Winter 2013 collections, Rihanna’s contributions for River Island are scheduled to be on the catwalk on February 16.

The line of high streetwear for River Island is the pop star’s first foray into fashion designing – and it doesn’t appear to be her last. Since the announcement about her River Island collection was made over the summer, the “Diamonds” singer was signed on to executive produce and star in Styled to Rock. About her first collection, she, in a statement, called it: "[A] dream come true."

Although Rihanna hinted previously about wanting to design and has appeared in fashion ad campaigns, rumors regarding her fashion collection began circulating nearly a year ago, after she was spotted leaving River Island’s London headquarters. Once the collection of accessories and clothing was confirmed, the brand’s CEO said in a statement: "We are thrilled to be collaborating with Rihanna and to be the first fashion brand to work with her in this way. Rihanna is a style icon; from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we started to work together we knew this was a perfect fit."
