Rihanna and Shakira’s Collaboration “Can’t Remember to Forget” Out by Next Week
Earlier in December, Pitbull revealed that Rihanna turned down collaboration “Timber” to work on a new single with Shakira. The track has been expected to come out earlier in 2014, and now, the relevant details have been announced.
Listeners should expect the song, called “Can’t Remember to Forget,” out on January 14. Rihanna announced the news on Twitter: “@shakira - Can't Remember To Forget (feat. @rihanna )” ACTUALLY I just found out you'll have it by the 13th! #1week”
“Can’t Remember to Forget” makes the first single from Shakira’s upcoming English-language album – her first since She Wolf. The release drops in the spring through RCA.
Shakira, as well, after having a successful season on The Voice last year is expected to return for the upcoming season, which starts in February.
Pitbull revealed the news about the single while promoting “Timber” on Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. Since that point, both singers have reportedly been in Los Angeles filming a music video with Joseph Kahn.
Rihanna herself reportedly has an eighth studio album in the works. While details remain scant at this point, producers attached to the project include Nicky Romero, DJ Mustard, and David Guetta. While Romero and Guetta are known for their house hits, DJ Mustard recently told the press he plans to return the singer’s sound to the club.
