Release Date Revealed for Shakira’s Latest English Language Album
For at least a month now, we’ve been waiting for Shakira’s latest single, a collaboration with Rihanna, to drop. The song, “Can’t Remember to Forget You” came out this Monday, and on that same day, Shakira revealed more information about her upcoming album.
The latest detail is the release date. We’ve known that “Can’t Remember to Forget You” is the album’s lead-in single, but the full-length release was destined for some point in spring. According to a statement the singer posted on Twitter, the album comes out on March 25. She wrote: “Get #CantRememberToForgetYou ft @Rihanna - from Shak's new album, coming March 25! - on @iTunesMusic worldwide”
Right now, a title still isn’t known, but the album is expected to come out on RCA. The release, as well, is her first English-language album since 2009’s She Wolf, which peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 and featured a single of the same title that went up to No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Chronologically, this still-untitled album follows Sale e Sol, which came out in 2010.
Pitbull, in a radio interview last year, actually spilled the beans about “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” revealing that Rihanna had other plans when asked to collaborate on “Timber.” If you haven’t yet heard the track, listen to it here:
