Red Hot Chili Peppers Unveil Two More New Tracks
The Red Hot Chili Peppers have unveiled two more new tracks of the new singles they expect to release during the next six months. The titles of the songs are "Magpie's On Fire" and "Victorian Machinery" - and they can be heard right now, even though the official release date is not until the 10th September.
In a clever marketing strategy, RHCP are releasing their new music in stages, having already issued the earlier instalment of "Strange Man" and "Long Progression" during the beginning of August. Fans can expect another two singles at the beginning of October when "Never Is A Long Time" and "Love Of Your Life" will be made available.
In all there will be nine double sided singles in the whole series (i.e. 18 songs), two singles coming out each month, with the final instalment being released next year. Each of the tracks were recorded during the 2011 recording sessions of the band's studio album I'm With You.
Recently, while all these new singles are being released, most of the RHCP have been hard at work creating even more new material, according to drummer Chad Smith. Frontman Anthony Kiedis is out of action at the moment recovering from foot surgery. On his return, he will be able to pick and choose what he likes in amongst all the new stuff.
As Chad Smith said, "We're just always trying to come up with new stuff; usually the latest and greatest is what we use, but you never know. If there's something that's really good or if Anthony's really connected to any of them, that sometimes has something to do with it, so we'll see."
Both singles are able to be heard below - enjoy!
