Rebecca Ferguson To Release 'Heaven' Album In The US
Rebecca Ferguson's debut album, Heaven, is soon to be released in the US, much to the delight of eagerly awaiting fans. The album has already created some history in the UK. It debuted at number three and is now heading toward sales of half a million discs. The sensational first single off the album, Nothing's Real But Love, debuted at No. 10 in the UK Charts, and is still generating lots of positive reviews from the music community.
The former British X Factor star has a unique voice with a sound that echoes through to your soul. It has a distinctive edge that is unmistakable. Fans everywhere are taking notice. Just at the early stage of auditions for X Factor, Simon Cowell was agog with her singing ability, telling Rebecca in person, "You have a recording voice."
The music video for "Nothing's Real But Love" is in black and white, probably to play down all the other distractions in our daily lives. To emphasise the point, it is also a bleak cold day. She sings, "Nothing's real but love/No money, no house, no car, can beat love.." In other words, all the regular possessions that most people seek just don't compare to the reality of love. The clip reinforces that message, because in black and white all the solid objects pale into insignificance, but when a person smiles, even in B&W, it is so obvious.
Further on into the song, Rebecca sings how all these "things" (like house, car, money) won't fill you up like love. Indeed, it is a timely message. Throughout the video, there are scenes showing people of all ages, young and old. And all that seems to matter in life, is love. It is a great song to show off the brilliant talent of this new star.
