Rapper Matisyahu Kicks Photographer In Face
Jewish rapper Matisyahu, whose real name is Matthew Paul Miller, got himself into some hot water this past Wednesday after he kicked a photographer in the face during a Brooklyn performance, per TMZ.
The thirty-two year old Pennsylvania native, that is best known for his well known hit song ‘King without a Crown’, was in the middle of singing when he, according to photographer Rebecca Smyne, kicked her in the face and broke her camera because the flash distracted him. Smyne tweeted, "I was just attacked by mAtisyahu calling cops pressing charges. Wtf! He kicked me in face and broke my camera!!!!!"
Apparently cash goes along way! The photographer then tweeted that things were ok. "I'm ok; after cops showed, matisyahu's manager, who witnessed the incident, gave me a fat stack of cash to cover damages. Happy hanukkah!" Although Smyne’s tweet could have been sarcastic, Matisyahu tried to clear things up, via Twitter, after kicking the woman. "Sorry about last night. I totally snapped. I wouldn't call it a kick, more like stepping into the crowd,” he wrote. Adding, "being that you've shot so many shows you should know how distracting a huge flash in your face is."
Matisyahu, who just recently shaved his signature beard and told fans a couple weeks ago that they can expect a New Year filled with music of rebirth, has since added another more sincere apology after physically lashing out at the photographer.
“I regret what transpired when I tried to remove the camera from the photographer’s hands last night ... I reacted impulsively out of frustration and for that I apologize.”
