Radiohead Stage Collapse Kills One, Others Injured
What should have been a great evening has turned into a tragedy for Radiohead and their fans. Before their planned show in Toronto, Ontario Canada began, the stage collapsed, claiming one life and injuring at least three others.
So far, there have been no further updates but CBC News Toronto did confirm that emergency crews were called around 4pm ET to Downsview Park where the outdoor show was to take place.
Of the three reported to be injured, two have minor injuries while the third is in serious condition.
The band has only responded by Twitter to say: "Due to unforeseen circumstances tonight's at downsview park tonight has been cancelled. Fans are advised not to make their way to the venue." The band’s rep said that they had no comment.
Naturally, this incident will stir up horrible memories of the stage collapse at the Sugarland concert last summer that claimed five lives and injured dozens more. The band performed at a benefit concert for the victims but were ultimately sued by some of their fans.
